IMOD & CD ARCHIVES: PRESERVING DANCE IN MOTION 

Our partner, ChromaDiverse (CD) is a nonprofit leader in digital dance preservation that is redefining what it means to archive the ephemeral. As of 2025, ChromaDiverse is IMOD’s permanent digital preservation partner.  

The International Museum of Dance x ChromaDiverse Archives are a living, breathing legacy of movement, memory, and cultural brilliance from around the world. 

ChromaDiverse’s mission is to help dance organizations preserve, celebrate, and amplify their histories online through dynamic, accessible digital archives. Their innovative tools, the CD DigitalVault™ and CD SmartCapture™, tackle the challenges of documenting and preserving dance while strengthening everyday operations, from licensing and restaging to fundraising, marketing, and community engagement.
