IMOD ARCHIVES:
the imod legacy trust
The IMOD Legacy Trust will be an endowed trust home to collections of irreplaceable artifacts demonstrating dance’s evolution and connectivity. The Trust works with the artists, families, or executors to ensure the items are properly cared for, cataloged, and made accessible to the public via physical and digital displays. The vision for the Trust is to provide a safe space for the objects and curate them into grouped constellations.
The IMOD Legacy Trust is where the history of dance will be preserved for generations to come. As artists age, we risk losing these irreplaceable pieces that demonstrate the cultural significance of dance. It is critical that we act now before these important items are lost or deteriorate further. With your help, we can keep artists from having to sell their personal collections and can offer their family members a trusted place dedicated to protecting the physical manifestations of their legacies.
SAFEGUARDING THE PAST, PRESERVING THE PRESENT,
AND FOSTERING INNOVATION TOWARD THE FUTURE
Archival materials including press, Playbill, VHS tapes, and U-matic tapes
The IMOD Legacy Trust is also charged with developing opportunities to loan the curations to museums, corporations, transportation hubs, and more. Dance is the connective tissue shared between generations, cultures, equality, and self-expression. IMOD is the champion of safeguarding the past, preserving the present, and fostering innovation as we press into the future. Once endowed, the Trust will offer scholarships in their names and find ways to continue the works of these cultural icons.
